Jazz singer Penelope Antena gives us the feels with her EP 'Down the habit hole'

Jazz singer Penelope Antena gives us the feels with her latest EP release 'Down the habit hole.'

'Down the habit hole' is a collection of 5 tracks, each song putting you in a different mood accompanied by her soulful voice and lush experimental production. We can't help but feel like the collection of songs is a form of empowering woman, reminding them of their self-worth and their value.

Our personal favourite is 'Don't text' a song that every woman in the world can relate to. It's smooth and spacey, it echoes in your ears long after you've listened to it. Reminding us a little bit of Solange.

In 'Chocolat chip cookie' she takes it into another realm, where she raps over some dope beats. There is no stopping this multi-talented artist.

Penelope is a songwriter, singer, producer and daughter of Isabelle Antena and grand daughter of Marc Moulin. You can tell that music has run through the family as her new offering has us slow dancing in the streets.

Leng Hock is back with his Trap/soul single 'This Way'

Aussie soul/hip hop artist Leng Hock is back with another single 'This Way' produced by Gamera.

We never really know what to expect from Leng as he's constantly surprising us, but we dig this new electro/trap/soul single.

Leng’s production style, sound and his overall songwriting abilities take inspiration from Kanye West, Shlohmo and The Weeknd.

We're going to pop Leng Hock on the one to watch list as his experimental music will no doubt be hitting the Js soon.

Nai Palm gives us the chills with a hauntingly beautiful track 'Homebody'

Hiatus Kaiyote's Nai Palm has dropped a hauntingly beautiful single 'Homebody' off her upcoming solo album 'Needle Paw.'

If her album cover hasn't already got you excited in the pants, the croons of her soulful yet delicate voice will definitely get you in the mood.

'Homebody' gives us the chills, in a good way. You know when you get your arm hairs rise? That kind of way. So raw and beautiful, with lush harmonies sprinkled on the top.

With the album release expected for 20th October 2017, she has also launched a list of tour dates starting in November here

Sydney indie-soul outfit Levingstone are back with a pulsing new single rich with their trademark combination of lush harmony, groove and imagery - titled “Ritual,” from their upcoming EP Overland.

The tune has been described by the band as "a song about death that you could dance to" and with it’s punchy rhythm and driving melodies, it certainly casts a shimmering light on the subject.

Recorded at The Grove Studios with Chris Jackson and mastered by Kelly Hibbert (Little Dragon, Hiatus Kaiyote, New Venusians), the song explores death as part of the cycle of living, and is both personal and uplifting.

It also heralds the expansion of the five piece's sound to include a golden horn section that dances over the tight groove, with layers of synth and guitar framing the almost playful vocals.

“We’re so scared of talking about dying,” says lead singer Sammii Su. “I’ve always had a macabre fascination - but a recent event suddenly made it very ugly and real. So this song is a way of reframing, trying to sing myself away from fear.” she said.

Levingstone will be releasing a videoclip for Ritual in the coming weeks, as well as announcing a run of shows to coincide with the release of their new EP in November.
