SYS EP of the week Tai Free ‘Journals’

When Tai Free popped into our inbox we were instantly transfixed on him. This Brooklyn rapper just released his ‘Journals’ EP and it is our pick for EP of the week.

‘Journals’ is five tracks deep and is full of emotive raps with a little bit soul sprinkled in between. The beats are so soulful it effortlessly flows with Tai Free’s style, and captivates you from the very beginning.

Our favourite track is Drive which features Francesca. The soulful vocals are on point and Tai Free manages to take us on a road trip journey with his flawless rapping skills.

The lead single ‘Complications’ is about creating moments for yourself regardless of what life may throw at you. Almost like a self-help track about figuring out who you are is the journey, not the destination.

Tai Free's brand of hip-hop is a modern take on the frustrations of inner city youth over eclectic, yet soulful beats. He explains love, his dreams, the crushing bitterness of poverty, and everything in between and we’re very excited to see more from this upcoming MC.

In one comment someone shutdown Kanye West’s tweet for help to Mark Zuckerberg

There seems to be trouble in paradise with Kanye West. While he’s gearing up to release his latest ‘Life of Pablo’ album he seems to have gone to twitter to ask for 1 billion dollars from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

The internet is going crazy, and while we feel it seems like Kanye might be in need of some different kind of help, the comments are rolling on the internet.

In one post, a punter shut the tweet down.

Kendrick Lamar pens open heartfelt letter to Tupac

Kendrick Lamar has written a very heartfelt letter to the late Tupac revealing what he felt the moment he first saw Tupac on the 19th anniversary of his death.

Read the letter below:

“I was 8 yrs old when I first saw you. I couldn’t describe how I felt at that moment. So many emotions. Full of excitement. Full of joy and eagerness. 20 yrs later I understand exactly what that feeling was. INSPIRED. The people that you touched on that small intersection changed lives forever. I told myself I wanted to be a voice for man one day. Whoever knew I was speaking out loud for u to listen.

Thank you, K.L.”
